Apparently, drawing Gala dresses is like opening pandora's box. I keep getting random ideas for them. Luna has almost certainly been done to death but I really, really wanted to do one for her. Took a few revisions to get it right but I love how it turned out. I'm of the opinion that as Luna is quite traditional, she'd be against more modern design, so I designed it to be relatively elegant and refined. I guess the theme is the night sky? I tried to encapsulate that swirly sky style into the dress with the clouds and the layering of the colours. I'm not very creative when it comes to patterns, so in the end I abandoned that a little. Still, I really like this one.
Program used: InkScape
Time taken: A little over two hours.
EDIT: I find myself constantly adjusting my images. I just noticed (after being shocked to discover I've had 1000 views in 2 hours - where are you all coming from?!) that her nose was a little too large and carefully reduced it. Ah vectors, you make scaling things so simple.
I also just found out that one of the groups on here is actually running a gala dress contest. Nice coincidink that I drew these really. Don't think I'll win somehow but contests are fun!
